About Fraps

Fraps is an application that measures the number of FPS in various games and takes screenshots. The program also allows you to record the game you are playing.

The app installs very fast. So certainly there is no need to worry about a long installation procedure.

FPS Viewer

I’m sure that most people who download this program just want to see how many FPS they have in the most recent games.

You can see how many frames per second you have in a particular game. For that you have to do is to start this program and then launch the game. Besides that, you can also set Fraps to run a benchmark for a specified amount of time. You can choose to see the frame times, minimum, maximum, and average number of FPS during the benchmark.

Flexible Interface

The program has a very nice interface which is pretty well organized. So I like Frap’s full version. It is a very simple but extremely efficient application. In General, you are provided several options such as to start minimized, the window of the program always on top, run the app when Windows starts and more.

In the General section, you will see some programming options.

Benchmarking Software

In the 99 FPS field, you can make various changes, in how the benchmark is performed while you are running a particular PC game. What I like about Fraps is that it saves you the results of the benchmark. The benchmark folder is located in the main directory. As a result, we say that this is the best quality benchmark software.
Here you will show such Benchmark settings…

FPS (Frames Per Second) – Contains the frame rate value for each second of the benchmark.
Frametimes – Contains the time (in milliseconds) for each frame rendered in the benchmark.
MinmaxAVG – Provide benchmark duration, minimum, maximum, total frame rate and average frame rate values.

Here are more additional settings, which you can customize as your choice.

Movie Recorder

In the Movies category, you can make video capture. The only drawback to this feature is that you are limited to 30 seconds per recording. It’s an easy movie video game recording software with many advanced technologies. YouTube video creators can easily create video and edit videos.

This allows you to control the background audio of the game. You can record the video as long as you want.

First, select the target area/frame to record a movie, which indicates how many frames will be included in the movie each second. You can choose 30, 50 or 60 fps from the section. You can select the size of the area. There are more screen capture settings here, select them according to your needs.

In the game press the Video Capture Hotkey (F9) when you want to start recording. While recording the frame rate counter will turn red color. When you want to end your movie, press the button again to stop recording. This will automatically save the recording. You will now find the recorded movie in your default folder.

Take Screenshots

Another thing that I like a lot about this program is the fact that it allows you to take screenshots during a game. In the Screenshots category, you can set the screen capture hotkey.

On the hard drive, images can be saved in various formats such as BMP, JPG, PNG and TGA.

You are welcome to download Fraps free for PC. So click the download button and get it. When the download is complete, install it on your PC. Then you can start doing what you want. The only thing that I do not enjoy is that in the free version. Here you can record a game or a movie for just 30 seconds per session. To fully take advantage of this feature you need to get the paid version.
